Kerala: A young mother of a missing baby Anupama in Kerala began a continuous protest before the office of the Kerala State Child Welfare Council.
She protested against the removal of the top office-bearers of the Council and the Child Welfare Committee, who she alleged are behind the handing over of her baby to adoptive parents.
Anupama has been struggling to get back her child, who was allegedly given away to adoptive parents.
She said that all her requests to the officials have fallen on deaf ears. She also added that there had been no further action by the Council and the Committee on the matter.
Anupama said she met the State Minister for Women and Children, Veena George. Veena said to Anupama that she should not be prejudiced.

"Even when the ongoing inquiry is on, how can the top office-bearers of these two organizations continue in their posts. The demand for a DNA test has been hanging fire for long. We seek justice and hence I decided to launch a protest," said Anupama.
On Wednesday, the young couple urged the state government to take custody of their child from the adoptive parents in Andhra Pradesh. They feared the child might be carried out of the country.
Anupama stated that the state government could keep the baby in its custody till the case is resolved.
22-year-old Students' Federation of India (SFI1) activist Anupama, granddaughter of one of the topmost CPI-M leaders in the state capital, and her husband Ajith addressed the State Police chief and the Child Welfare Committee in this regard.
The couple was made to address the media after their appeals to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. Incluidng the state police chief, their party leaders and various other offices went in vain.
After approaching the media, a family court in the state capital stopped further processes of formalizing the adoption of the baby.
Earlier this week, Anupama had warned that if things do not move quickly, she will have to start a protest to get justice. Hence chose to begin it from Thursday.
