    Nation pays tribute to 'Missile Man' APJ Abdul Kalam on his birth anniversary

    Today marks the 90th birth anniversary of ex-president APJ Abdul Kalam. The entire nation commemorates the birth anniversary of the 'People's President.'





    Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi took to Twitter to pay his tributes to India's 'Missile Man'. PM Modi stated that APJ Abdul Kalam had devoted his life to make India a stronger nation. Modi also appended that the 'Missile Man' will remain an inspiration for the present and generations to come.





    PM Narendra Modi took his Twitter and wrote in Hindi, “Tributes to former President of the nation, popularly called the Missile Man, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam ji on his birth anniversary. He devoted his life to creating India as strong, wealthy and able. Moreover, he will forever endure a spring of motivation for the citizens.”





    Other dignitaries like President Ram Nath Kovind, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, and others paid their tributes to Dr APJ Abdul Kalam on his 90th birth anniversary today.





    President Kovind conferred floral tributes to the former President at the Northern Command, Udhampur, Jammu & Kashmir.

    Furthermore, CM Naveen tweeted, “Humble tributes to former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam on his birth anniversary. He is among India’s most noted scientists with enormous contributions to India’s space & missile programmes. Therefore, naming of Wheeler Island as APJ Abdul Kalam Island is #Odisha’s tribute to Dr Kalam.”





    Dr Kalam was an Indian aerospace scientist turned politician. Also, he had served as the 11th President of India from 2002 to 2007. Kalam was born on 15 October 1931. He grew up in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu. 





    The ex-president was a scholar in physics and aerospace engineering. He has worked for more than forty years as a scientist and science administrator. He was primarily at the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). Dr Kalam was closely engaged in India's civilian space plan and military missile advancement works.





    Even after his demise, his contributions to the nation remained the best of India's scientific and technological development. Moreover, the nation will forever remember Dr Kalam's teachings and ideologies.
