Digital Desk: As tensions escalate in Parliament, the government gears up to face scrutiny from the Opposition regarding alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG exam. Sources have revealed to India Today TV that the issue is expected to dominate discussions during the Motion of Thanks to the President's address in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on Friday.

The Lok Sabha witnessed chaotic scenes recently as newly elected members took their oaths. Amidst the ceremonial proceedings, Opposition MPs vociferously raised slogans concerning the NEET issue, setting the stage for a contentious debate.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan stands prepared to address these concerns should they be raised during the parliamentary session. "The government will respond to all queries of the Opposition on the NEET issue as required actions have been taken by the ruling dispensation to fix the problem," affirmed a government source.

The gravity of the NEET issue was underscored during a recent meeting of floor leaders from various political parties at the residence of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. Leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Sharad Pawar, Kanimozhi, and others expressed consensus on pressing for a detailed discussion on the matter in both Houses of Parliament.

Left Leader Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya articulated the Opposition's stance, stating, "On Friday, we are going to stick to our demand for discussion on the NEET issue. It's time that the government responds."

Kharge, also the Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha, held multiple meetings within a short span to ensure a cohesive strategy among Opposition parties. Criticizing the President's address, Kharge remarked, "Listening to the President's address written by the Modi government, it seemed as if Modi ji is in a perpetual state of denial!"

He further added, "Overall, Modi ji is making a futile attempt to garner some applause by making the Honourable President read lies, which the people of India have rejected in the 2024 elections."

The NEET-UG exam conducted on May 5 and subsequent controversies surrounding it, including alleged question paper leaks and irregularities in Patna, has intensified the Opposition's demands for accountability. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has recently made arrests in connection with the NEET-UG paper leak case in Patna, further fueling the debate.

As Parliament braces for heated deliberations, the government faces the challenge of addressing the Opposition's grievances while maintaining the integrity of its educational policies. The outcome of these discussions could potentially shape future legislative measures aimed at safeguarding the credibility of national entrance examinat
