Overnight rain improves Delhi's air quality, more showers expected today

Several portions of Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, and other districts of the National Capital Region (NCR) received mild rain...

Digital Desk: Several areas of Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, and other National Capital Region (NCR) cities experienced moderate rain on the preceding nights of Thursday and Friday, providing much-needed relief from the toxic air quality.

The air quality index (AQI) in Delhi's Connaught Place improved and was registered at 85 in the 'excellent' category.

The sudden showers coincided with the Delhi government's plan to adopt artificial rain through cloud seeding on November 20-21 to reduce the city's chronic air pollution.

More showers are expected later today in Delhi-NCR and other adjacent areas. "Partly cloudy skies with mist and shallow fog in the morning." "There is a chance of light rain/drizzle in one or two places," warned the Regional Meteorological Department (RMC) in Delhi.
