Digital Desk: The 7th edition of the India Mobile Congress was officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. It was seen that the prime minister was interacting with executives from top telecom firms.
Alongside the Prime Minister, Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd, briefed him on the job his organisation is doing in the telecoms sector.

The Prime Minister also had interactions with Bharti Enterprises' chairman, Sunil Bharti Mittal. Bharti Enterprises is demonstrating what it refers to as the "future of innovation" at the Mobile Congress through digital infrastructure, AI-enabled technology, and 5G Plus.
Earlier, Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited demonstrated India's first satellite-based giga fibre service 'JioSpaceFiber' to provide high-speed broadband services to previously inaccessible geographies within India.
Jio gave a demo of its new broadband satellite service. As part of the "100 5G Labs initiative," PM Modi will also present awards during the ceremony to 100 "5G Use Case Labs" that have been established in academic institutions throughout India.
The objective of this initiative is to harness the capabilities of 5G technology by encouraging the creation of 5G apps that are customised to meet the specific needs of India as well as those of other countries. With the programme, India becomes a leader in the use of 5G technology by promoting innovation in a number of sectors, including education, power, transportation, agriculture, and healthcare.
Additionally, it has a major impact on the development of domestic telecom technology which is essential for national security and helps to set up the nation's academic and startup ecosystem for the impending 6G era. During the ceremony, Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Union Minister of Communications, Electronics, and Information Technology, expressed that the PM's aim consisted of democratising technology.
"Technology, in PM Modi's view, is democratised, people-centric, and opens the door for societal advancement. PM Modi has revolutionised the telecom industry with this vision," the Union Minister stated.
Asia’s biggest media, technology, and telecommunications gathering is the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2023, which takes place from October 27 to 29. It gives India's amazing technological and telecoms achievements a stage, allowing important announcements and start-ups to present their cutting-edge goods and services.
The objective of IMC 2023, with the theme "Global Digital Innovation," is to strengthen India's standing as a creator, producer, and exporter of cutting-edge technologies, such as 5G, 6G, and Artificial Intelligence (AI), and to foster critical discourse on matters concerning cybersecurity, green technology, and the semiconductor industry. To encourage new ventures and partnerships, IMC is launching a startup program this year called "Aspire" that will connect investors, entrepreneurs, and established companies.
Approximately 5,000 CEO-level delegates, 230 exhibitors, 400 startups, and other stakeholders are among the over one lakh attendees from 22 countries that are anticipated for the event.
