Digital Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked a historic moment on Saturday as he inaugurated the newly built Ayodhya Airport, bringing a wave of development to the city.
The inauguration followed a vibrant roadshow and the unveiling of the redeveloped Ayodhya railway station, showcasing a commitment to modern infrastructure and connectivity.
During the roadshow, the Prime Minister engaged with the enthusiastic crowd, reciprocating their warm greetings and even opening the door of his vehicle to personally acknowledge the people's support. The atmosphere was electric, with flower petals showered and slogans echoing in praise of Modi.
Adding cultural flair to the event, the prime minister enjoyed performances by cultural troupes along the route, underlining the cultural richness of Ayodhya.
Apart from the airport inauguration, Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stones for various development projects in Uttar Pradesh, reinforcing the government's dedication to overall growth and progress in the state.
The newly inaugurated airport is named 'Maharishi Valmiki International Airport Ayodhya Dham,' paying homage to the revered sage poet. The project's Phase 1, developed at a cost exceeding Rs 1,450 crore, boasts a state-of-the-art terminal building spanning 6500 sqm, designed to serve around 10 lakh passengers annually.
The terminal's facade mirrors the architectural splendour of the upcoming Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, providing a symbolic connection to the city's cultural and religious heritage. Inside, the terminal is adorned with local art, paintings, and murals depicting the life of Bhagwan Shri Ram.
Emphasizing sustainability, the Ayodhya airport sets a high standard with features like an insulated roofing system, LED lighting, rainwater harvesting, landscaping with fountains, a water treatment plant, a sewage treatment plant, and a solar power plant. These initiatives aim to achieve GRIHA 5-star ratings, highlighting a commitment to eco-friendly practices.
With the inauguration of Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, Ayodhya takes a significant step forward in its journey towards becoming a key hub for connectivity, culture, and sustainable development. Prime Minister Modi's vision for a modern and prosperous Ayodhya is now a reality, set to benefit the people and the region for years to come.
