Mexico's President Andrés Manuel López Obrador secured the second position on the list with a robust approval rating of 66 percent, reaffirming his popularity among the Mexican population. Alain Berset, the President of the Swiss Confederation, claimed the third spot with a commendable 58 percent approval rating.
The report further highlighted the international standing of political figures, placing Brazil's former President Lula da Silva and Australia's Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in the fourth and fifth positions, respectively.
The rankings are based on Morning Consult's latest data collected from November 29 to December 5, 2023, using a seven-day moving average of adult residents in each country. The consultancy firm employed varying sample sizes to ensure a representative overview of public sentiment.
Surprisingly, the approval ratings for leaders in the United States demonstrated a mixed picture. US President Joe Biden found himself in the eighth position with a 37 percent approval rating. Meanwhile, Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Fiala secured the lowest approval rating among the leaders surveyed.
In contrast, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's approval rating was at a relatively low 25 percent, underscoring the diverse opinions within the United Kingdom.
Turning the focus to disapproval ratings, Prime Minister Modi's standing remained solid with only 18 percent disapproving of his leadership. In Mexico, President Obrador faced a disapproval rate of 29 percent, indicating a more polarized opinion within his nation.
