    Standing Firm: India increases number of soldiers on LAC

    Digital Desk: Amid the ongoing dispute with China, with regards to the border issue, India has deployed more troops along the border areas, increasing the numbers of soldiers in border areas where disengagement has not taken place.





    Apart from deployment of soldiers, the Indian Army is making necessary changes in its military structure along with restructuring, following China’s tremendous infrastructure changes on other side of the LAC.

    As per the annual report of the Defense Ministry, “The status-quo on the use of force by China in more than one area on the LAC has been adequately responded to by unilateral and provocative actions to change the status quo.”





    Armies of both sides are engaged in talks at various levels to resolve the dispute. After continuous joint efforts, disengagement has not happened at many places.





    Indian soldiers are standing firmly against China on the border. It has been mentioned in the report that India is also engaged in strengthening its infrastructure with roads, bridges and other basic facilities on the LAC.





    The report also highlights the country’s defense strategies in the last one year. The detailed information includes army’s action against China and Pakistan and multiple peace agreements and talks undertaken as well various defense preparations and modernization of the Air Force and Navy.

    Also, the report includes peace agreements signed between the DGMOs of India and Pakistan undertaken in February this year, after tension escalated between the two on the LoC. This agreement is a positive as well as a win-win deal for both the countries as it takes a step towards maintaining peace on border areas.
