On 26th November 2008, Mumbai witnessed one of the deadliest terrorist incidents in its
New Delhi: On Saturday, Union Minister Ajay Mishra’s son, Ashish Mishra was arrested in relation to the killing of four people during the farmer’s protests against the new controversial farm laws in Lakhimpur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh.
Ashish Mishra has been accused of ramming a car over a group of farmers protesting in the area. The farm leaders and witnesses present during the incident allege that Mishra was driving the car.
As a result of this, the Uttar Pradesh police have registered a murder case against Mishra.
He was arrested on Saturday after being questioned for almost 12 hours over the incident. He has been remanded in judicial custody for 14 days.

In a statement the local police have also said that Mishra was not cooperating during the questioning and gave “evasive answers” to their questions. Besides, the police also stated that Mishra failed to provide any strong evidence to prove that he was not present in the spot of the incident or not driving the car himself.
Minister Ajay Mishra on the other hand has also denied the fact that his son was present at the time of the incident. He further added that their driver was driving the car that lost control after being violently attacked by the protesters.
