Digital Desk: With the goal of soon reaching the 41 trapped workers, the rescue mission at the Uttarkashi tunnel reached its conclusion. Seven specialists from Delhi have arrived at the scene to aid in expediting the rescue efforts, and ambulances are presently waiting outside the tunnel.
Rescue officer Harpal Singh said on Wednesday night that NDRF workers discovered steel rods inside the wreckage that the machine was unable to cut, even though pipes measuring 44 metres had been placed via horizontal drilling. He told news agency ANI, "We will use the machine again after NDRF personnel cut those rods."
In order to allow the two pipes to pass through in the ensuing five hours, Singh said that he had "full confidence" that the rods could be cut in an hour. By 8:30 am, he hoped, the rescue crew will be able to reach the stranded workers.
As the last phase of the expedition progresses, Uttarkashi District Magistrate Abhishek Ruhela has arrived at the scene.
