Digital Desk: After exit polls projected a clear majority for the BJP-led NDA alliance, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Somnath Bharti expressed his dismay on Saturday, vowing to "shave his head" if Narendra Modi becomes prime minister for the third consecutive term. Bharti also voiced confidence that the opposition-led INDIA alliance would win and form the government when ballots are counted on June 4.
Bharti, who is the INDIA bloc's candidate for the New Delhi Lok Sabha seat, dismissed the exit poll predictions, asserting that the opposition alliance would claim all seven seats in Delhi. Taking to social media platform X, Bharti stated, "I will shave off my head if Mr. Modi becomes PM for the third time. Mark my words! All exit polls will be proven wrong on June 4, and Modi ji will not become prime minister for the third time."
He further emphasized, "In Delhi, all seven seats will go to the INDIA ALLIANCE. The fear of Mr. Modi does not allow exit polls to show him losing. Hence, we all need to wait for the actual results scheduled to be delivered on June 4th. People have voted very heavily against BJP."
The India Today-Axis My India exit poll projections predict a strong performance for the BJP in Delhi, likely achieving a clean sweep in the national capital. According to India Today's exit poll, the NDA is expected to secure 361–401 seats in the Lok Sabha polls this year, an increase from 352 in 2019, while the INDIA bloc is projected to get only 131-166 seats.
