Digital Desk: A businesswoman and six other people are facing charges by the Morbi police in Gujarat for allegedly assaulting a Dalit worker and forcing him to hold her footwear in his mouth allegedly for demanding his pending salary.

Earlier in October, Vibhuti Patel, the owner of Raniba Industries Pvt. Ltd., employed 21-year-old Dalit man Nilesh Dalsaniya, on a monthly salary of Rs 12,000. But on October 18, his contract was abruptly terminated.

Patel did not provide a clear response after Dalsaniya asked for his wages for the 16 days he had worked.

Om Patel, Vibhuti Patel's brother, and his associates are accused of attacking Dalsaniya, his brother, and another neighbor on Wednesday night when they went to her workplace.

According to the police report, Vibhuti Patel also smacked Dalsaniya before leading him to the commercial complex's terrace, where he was attacked physically by other staff members.

The FIR claims that Parikshit Patel, Om Patel, and other unidentified individuals thrashed Dalsaniya with belts and kicked and punched her.

Dalsaniya claims that Vibhuti Patel forced him to put her shoes in his mouth so that he would apologize for asking for his pay.

According to the FIR, she also threatened to harm him if he went back to the Ravapar Crossroads area.

Additionally, the accused recorded the incident and forced Dalsaniya to admit on camera that he had visited Vibhuti's office to demand money. The Dalit man was brought to Morbi Civil Hospital for treatment after the assault.

"All the accused face charges of assault, criminal intimidation, rioting, and relevant sections of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act," Pratipalsinh Zala, Deputy Superintendent of Police stated.

Zala added that the police conducted searches at the residences of all the accused after receiving the complaint, but found no one. He also mentioned that three different teams have been formed together to locate them.
