On 26th November 2008, Mumbai witnessed one of the deadliest terrorist incidents in its
New Delhi: A viral video of former Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu slamming the Punjab chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi has left the party leaders red-faced on Friday.
In the viral video, Sidhu referring to the Punjab CM stated that if he had been allowed to lead the government, it would have led to more success; he even used a derogatory remark against CM Channi.
“This man (Channi) will sink the congress in assembly election, 2022.” Sidhu was saying to the other party members.
The video taken in Mohali, where Sidhu led- congress workers and supporters were waiting for CM Channi before heading for Lakhimpur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh to meet the families of the farmers killed in the violence there.

Retaliating to Sidhu’s derogatory remarks, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Daljit Singh Cheema stated that the ruling party has no intention to empower the people of the state.
“Congress have hatred for the dalits, they didn’t have any intention to empower the people of the state.” SAD leader Cheema said.
Moreover, putting allegation over the congress party, Cheema asserted, “Congress played the Dalit card by appointing Charanjit Singh Channi as the chief minister but the real face of the party has been exposed by the video.”
Cheema also claimed that Sidhu fostered becoming the chief minister and was jealous that a scheduled caste man became the chief minister of Punjab.
However, till now no reaction came from Sidhu over his purported statement.
