Digital Desk: During a campaign rally in Rae Bareli, Rahul Gandhi responded with humour to a question about his marriage plans, saying, "Ab jaldi karni padegi" His witty remark sparked enthusiasm among the crowd gathered.

Accompanied by his sister, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Rahul Gandhi engaged with supporters during the rally.

The incident occurred towards the conclusion of the rally held in Raebareli's Bachhrawan area on Monday. Rahul Gandhi seized the moment to express gratitude to his sister and Congress leader, Priyanka Gandhi.

"While I am touring various parts of the country for the elections, my sister is dedicating her time here. I extend a heartfelt thanks to her for this," Rahul Gandhi stated.

Following Rahul Gandhi's remarks, Priyanka promptly urged her brother to address a question posed by someone in the crowd. Rahul Gandhi took a moment to grasp the query, turning to Priyanka for clarification. Later, in Hindi, he remarked, "Ab jaldi karni padegi [it will soon happen]."

Loyal party member KL Sharma is set to contest from Amethi against Union Minister Smriti Irani, who defeated Rahul in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Amethi has historically been a stronghold for the Gandhi family, with Rahul representing the constituency from 2004 to 2019, following the legacy of his father, former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, and his grandmother, former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

Rahul Gandhi is also contesting from Kerala's Wayanad. In Rae Bareli, he faces Congress defector and three-time MLC Dinesh Pratap Singh of the BJP.

The rally marked Rahul Gandhi's first major campaign event in Rae Bareli since filing his nomination. Priyanka Gandhi is actively campaigning in both Rae Bareli and Amethi.
