DIGITAL Desk: Today, Election Commission of India addressed a press conference where it unveiled the awaited packages of dates regarding the assembly elections for Maharashtra and Jharkhand. The elections will consequently be conducted in phases in different states to avoid inconvenience; however, the dates for declaring the results are the same. The election commission held a press conference around 3:30 p.m. and announced the dates of the polls around 4:00 p.m.

In Jharkhand, elections will take place on November 13th and 20th. Moreover, the outcome will be announced on November 23rd. While in Maharashtra elections will take place on 20th November and the result will be declared on 23rd November.
The Maharashtra election contest is likely to be mainly bipolar between the Mahayuti alliance and Maha Vikas Aghadi, including Shiv Sena (UBT), NCP-Sharad Pawar, and Congress. While in Jharkhand The ruling JMM-Congress conbine faces the NDA in Jharkhand, which has the BJP, JD(U), and AJSU as its allies. JMM had won 30 seats in the 2019 assembly polls, followed by Congress, which secured 16 seats that paved the way for Hemant Soren to swear in as chief minister of Jharkhand.
