Digital Desk: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) fined Air India Rs. 10 lakh for the second time on Wednesday for noncompliance with compensation guidelines.

The regulator discovered that Air India was not complying with the provisions of the relevant Civil Aviation Requirement (CAR) after inspecting airlines at Delhi, Kochi, and Bangalore airports.

Reportedly, on November 3, the airline was sent with a show-cause notice.

The DGCA stated that it was determined that Air India did not comply with the terms of the CAR based on its response to the show-cause notice.

Some of them include "not providing hotel accommodation for passengers affected by delayed flights, non-training of some of their ground personnel as per the stipulations and non-payment of compensation to international business class passengers who were made to travel on unserviceable seats", according to the statement.

As a result, the authority levied a ten lakh rupee fine for these violations.
