India Neutralizes Air Defence System in Lahore
It is confirmed that the confirmed HQ-9 air defence system in Lahore was neutralised in the strike

Digital Desk: Responding to increased border tension activities, Indian defense forces outlined its proportionate strategy to counter Pakistani attempted drone and missile attacks on various targets in Northern and Western India, including Srinagar, Jammu, Pathankot, Amritsar, Ludhiana, and Bhuj during the night between May 7-8.

During a press briefing on 7th May on the operation SINDOOR, officials from the Indian side had claimed that the earlier activities were ‘targeted, proportional and unprovoked’, and that no Pak military facility was targeted. But at the same time, they emphasised that any attack on the Indian military interests would prompt a “befitting reply.”

In the wake of Pakistan breaching the LOC last night in an attempt to target important Indian military assets through the use of Unmanned Aerial Systems and missiles which were successfully downed by India’s ICOUG and Air Defence; India has responded with counter terrorism air strikes today in the morning. These targeted Pakistani air defence radars and systems are at different places. They have on the ground again confirmed the reports, particularly that one of the targets, which was the HQ-9 air defence system at Lahore, was indeed taken out.

Moreover, the unprovoked mortar stoning and heavy artillery shelling by Pakistani forces along the Loc was noticed, where several Indian districts of Kupwara, Baramulla, Uri, Poonch, Mendhar, and Rajouri in the state of Jammu and Kashmir bore the brunt.

This barrage led to the death of 16 civilians, with three of them being women and children and five children. They had no option but to retaliate to save more lives and stop Pakistan from firing on the Indian side.

The Ministry of Defence also reaffirmed India’s policy of no first use of nuclear weapons with the understanding that the Pakistani military will not use first use either.
