Officials reported that there was no ceasefire violation reported from any sector along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir after 11 pm on Saturday.
Digital Desk: Kashmir experienced a peaceful night after India and Pakistan agreed on a full and immediate ceasefire on Saturday evening.
Officials reported that there was no ceasefire violation reported from any sector along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir after 11 pm on Saturday.
However, Pakistan broke the agreement just hours after the agreement in Srinagar and Jammu, with several reports of explosions and drone attacks.
Following the violation, the Border Security Force (BSF) was directed to respond with full force to such attacks.
Addressing a press conference on Saturday evening after the agreement, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri also said that Pakistan had repeatedly violated the ceasefire in several areas near the India-Pakistan border.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also posted a video on his X handle, showing a drone attack in Srinagar.
As per report, Pakistan resorted to heavy shelling in several areas of the International border just hours after the ceasefire truce between the two nuclear-armed nations.
Earlier on Saturday, FS Misri addressed a press conference and said that Pakistan reached out to India for de-escalation talks at 15:35 hours earlier in the afternoon of May 10.
Both neighbouring countries agreed to stop firing and military actions on land and in the air and sea effective from 17:00 hours India Standard Time, Misri added.
