Cosmopolitan 2024 contest, which was held in Korat, Thailand, a 19-year-old student from Manipur, Ningombam Jairaj, brought the laureate home by bagging the “Super Model” title from a pool of contestants. Jairaj, a rising young actor who studied at Dhanamanjuri University, Imphal, and is currently studying BBA, is the son of journalist Sanajaoba Ningombam and N. Petshwori. His journey in modeling began just last year, and his passion for the industry has been clear from the start.
In 2023, Jairaj was initially discovered within the modeling fraternity when he was crowned the winner of the Mr. Cosmopolitan India title at a competition held by Global Modeling India. This brought him to the international stage and for India, he performed very well in the competition. His dancing performance thrilled both the audience and the judges of the Thai version of Strictly Come Dancing over their runway dancing skills and professionalism in handling both dancing and interview sessions.
The victory of Jairaj is joyous for the state of Manipur and inspires youth talents from the Northeast on the world map. Contestants recommended Jairaj for his charming personality, self-confidence, and perfect personal appearance which made a difference in such competitions.
This contest performance adds up to the other performances of Indian models o international platforms and registers potential talent coming out from northeastern India, this emergent performance is increasing the confidence of other model aspirants in India.
