Digital Desk: The BJP shared a post on social media that compared Rahul Gandhi, the former leader of the grand old party, to Ravan, sparking backlash from the Congress.

The BJP posted a picture of Rahul Gandhi dressed as Ravan on its official X account on Thursday morning with the caption, "The new age Ravan is here. He's evil. Anti-Ram; Anti-dharma. He wants to destroy Bharat. "

Rahul Gandhi's 10-headed poster was also attached by the BJP. Amit Malviya, the head of the BJP's IT division, also shared the poster on his X profile.

The Congress responded immediately. Srinivas BV, the president of the Indian Youth Congress, released another poster with the slogan "Hindustan khatre mein hai", with a picture of PM Modi photoshopped to look like a ‘devil.’

Imran Pratapgarhi, a Congress leader, responded to the BJP's post by accusing them of being uneasy over the rising popularity of Wayanad, the Lok Sabha member from Kerala.

Pratapgarhi, a Rajya Sabha member who spoke to the media at the party headquarters, said: "This is the nervousness of the BJP after sensing its defeat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections."

He claimed that the BJP leaders and Prime Minister Narendra Modi both make baseless allegations.

"INDIA bloc have been in a panic since the they formed. It reveals their desperation when they refer to Rahul Gandhi as Ravan. The populace is aware of Rahul Gandhi and knows that he empathizes with their suffering. He is demonstrating alongside Manipurese citizens, including vegetable sellers and bike mechanics. Additionally, calling someone who is interacting with the general public demonstrates your level of fear. This is shameful,” the Congress leader, who is also the chief of the minority department said.

"Pratapgarhi stated after criticizing the BJP that the public was aware of the party's suffering. The BJP has become even more desperate as the INDIA bloc's acceptance has grown and Rahul Gandhi has entered active mode. The Prime Minister refers to the INDIA bloc as "rusted iron," a "ghamandiya" (arrogant) alliance, and even compares it to terrorist organizations because of this. All of this shows the Prime Minister and the BJP's nervousness, he added.
