Digital Desk: In a decisive move gearing up for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Congress party has established its Manifesto Committee, marking a significant step in strategizing for the impending polls. Headed by the seasoned politician and former Union Minister P. Chidambaram, the committee's primary aim is to articulate the party's agenda for the upcoming general elections.
Announced on December 23, the committee will be spearheaded by Chidambaram, while Deputy Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, TS Singh Deo, assumes the pivotal role of Convenor of the Manifesto Committee.
The 16-member panel boasts a blend of experienced leaders and youthful voices, with Gaurav Gogoi, the party's deputy leader in the Lok Sabha, prominently featured. His inclusion underscores the party's commitment to incorporating diverse perspectives in shaping its electoral promises.
This formation follows a critical meeting of the Congress Working Committee (CWC), where the focus was on election strategies and the timely announcement of candidates. Notable figures like Ramesh, Shashi Tharoor, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra are among those contributing to the manifesto's development, highlighting a blend of expertise and fresh ideas within the committee.
The Congress party's move signals its preparedness to offer a robust challenge in the impending elections, emphasizing policy and governance issues that resonate with the electorate. The forthcoming manifesto aims to articulate the party's vision and commitments to the people of India as the nation heads to the polls in 2024.
