Gourav Vallabh writes complaint to EC over Assam governor's campaign in Rajasthan

Voting in Rajasthan is scheduled for November 25 and the result of the election will be declared on 3 December 2023.

Digital Desk: National spokesman and candidate for the Congress, Gourav Vallabh has approached the commission to forbid the Assam governor from visiting Udaipur.

Complaint sent to the Election Commission

Gourav Vallabh wrote a letter to the Election Commission stating that Gulabchand Kataria is campaigning in support of BJP candidate Tarachand Jain which is clearly illegal as Kataria holds the constitutional position of governor. He argues that this violates the Code of Conduct.

Vallabh said that despite having a constitutional position, Gulabchand Kataria was hosting a meeting in favour of BJP candidate Tarachand Jain in a letter to the Election Commission. Gourav Vallabh argues that it is a clear breach of the Code of Conduct for someone holding a constitutional position to participate in politics.

Assam's governor at the moment is Gulab Chand Kataria, a former home minister for Rajasthan. Kataria, a Udaipur native, is a member of the Central Election Committee in addition to being a prominent BJP politician in Rajasthan.

It is to be noted that voting in Rajasthan is scheduled for November 25 and the result of the election will be declared on 3 December 2023.
