Digital Desk: The dates for the third meeting of the INDIA alliance, a new opposition bloc, have been announced. INDIA's third meeting will be held in Mumbai from August 31 to September 1. The opposition bloc's new name, INDIA (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance), comprising of 26 parties, was announced at a meeting in Bengaluru on July 17-18 to take on the ruling NDA in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The first meeting of the opposition parties was conducted in Patna. Following the second meeting, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said a committee comprising 11 members for coordination purposes among the opposition parties is to be formed, and a new convenor will be announced during the third planned meeting in Mumbai.

Earlier, ABP Live reported, citing sources, that Bihar Chief Minister and Janata Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar is likely to be nominated as the convenor of the 11-member coordination committee for the newly formed alliance of 26 opposition parties.

After the second meeting of the Opposition parties in Bengaluru, the INDIA bloc has shown a united front in the ongoing Monsoon session of the Parliament. They were trying to corner the Centre on critical topics such as the Manipur violence and the viral naked women parade video. While on contentious Bills like the passage of the Delhi Services Bill, officially known as The Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Bill, 2023, opposition MPs staged a walkout as a protest.
