Digital Desk: The first opposition meeting to strategize the plan for the Lok Sabha elections in 2024 concluded on Friday, with the next meeting scheduled for July 10th or 12th. In a press conference, JDU leader Nitish Kumar stated that the next meeting will be held in Shimla, under the leadership of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was not present at the press conference, despite being one of the 15 political parties present at the opposition meeting in Patna on June 23. Neither Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal nor Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann could be spotted at the press conference after participating in the opposition meeting earlier.

"The next meeting (of the opposition) will be chaired by Mallikarjun Kharge next month," Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said following the Opposition meeting in Patna.

"Leaders from several parties were present, and everyone shared their perspectives; it was a good meeting," he added.

Mallikarjun Kharge stated at the press conference that all parties who attended today's meeting in Patna are attempting to reach an agreement on a common agenda to fight together.

"We will meet again in Shimla on July 10 or 12," the Congress President added.

Rahul Gandhi described opposition unity as a process, saying that "the discussion will be taken to a deeper level in the next meeting."

"We may have some differences, but we have decided to work together with flexibility to safeguard our ideology," Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said in his speech.

"Whatever begins in Patna takes the form of a public movement," West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee stated after the opposition meeting.
