Probably winning Telangana, certainly winning MP, Chhattisgarh, 'very close' in Rajasthan: Rahul Gandhi
In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP will be surprised, says Rahul Gandhi.

Digital Desk: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi expressed confidence in his party's prospects for success in the upcoming Assembly elections on Sunday, claiming that it is "certainly winning" in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, "probably winning" in Telangana, and "certainly winning" in Rajasthan due to a "very close contest."

According to news agency PTI, he claimed Congress couldn't lose any of the states in the Assembly elections.

"Right now, I'd say we're probably winning Telangana, we're certainly winning Madhya Pradesh, and we're certainly winning Chhattisgarh. Rajasthan, we're really close and believe we can win. It appears to be that way. By the way, this is also what the BJP is saying internally," he remarked during a media conference.

Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Telangana, and Mizoram assembly elections are scheduled for later this year.

He claimed that the Opposition is collaborating and adapting and that the BJP will be "in for a surprise in the 2024" Lok Sabha elections.

"We are making adjustments to the BJP's dominance of the media. Don't assume that the opposition is incapable of adapting; we are doing just that. We are collaborating, and we represent 60% of India's population. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP will be surprised," he said.

In the lead-up to the elections in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, Rahul Gandhi asserted that the Congress was in charge of the narrative.  "If you speak to people in Rajasthan on what is the issue in terms of anti-incumbency, they will tell you they like the government," he added.

Rahul Gandhi claimed that the saffron party was engaging in distraction tactics to take attention away from the call for a caste census in response to the controversy surrounding BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri's anti-Muslim remarks made against BSP politician Danish Ali in the Lok Sabha.

"What you're witnessing right now is this gentleman, Bidhuri, and then, all of a sudden, Nishikant Dubey. The BJP is attempting to use everything as a diversion from the caste census idea. They refuse to have such conversation despite knowing that the caste census is an important issue for the Indian people," he was quoted as saying by PTI.

The Congress leader stated, "They use this kind of stuff to divert us every time we put a point on the table, but we've learned how to deal with it now.

He claimed that in Karnataka, the Congress had discovered a crucial lesson: the BJP wins elections by "distracting and not allowing us to construct our narrative." So, "we built our narrative and fought the elections," he continued.

The former Congress chief claimed, "What we did in Karnataka is we offered a clear vision for the state, 'This is the social security system that we are going to set up for you' and then we controlled the narrative.

"If you look at the Telangana elections, we are in charge of the story; the BJP is nowhere to be found; it is no longer relevant. In Telangana, the BJP has been destroyed and is no longer in power," Rahul Gandhi stated.
