Digital Desk:  On September 1, 2023, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat arrived in Guwahati for a three-day visit. Today will be his concluding day of visit, during his stay he has asked people here to increase the number of volunteers.

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the BJP's parent organisation, intends to boost its presence in Assam ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Dr. Mohan Bhagwat, RSS Sangh Chalak, met with state Sangh Chalaks today for a day.

However, it's been reported that the RSS chief held a secret meeting with the Union Chalaks.

The RSS chief's visit to Assam comes ahead of the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has been critical to the BJP's success in past elections. RSS members took the initiative in fostering a favourable atmosphere for the CPI(M) at the grassroots level.

This year, the RSS is striving to establish a favourable climate for the BJP at the grassroots level across the country in advance of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Mohan Bhagwat, who arrived in Assam yesterday, has begun a marathon meeting with the Sangh Chalaks. The meeting took place at the Adingiri Tribal Hostel in Maligaon.

It should be emphasised that the BJP's reign in the state is somewhat nearing towards end, with the party RSS playing a vital role in reviving it.

During the meeting, they were told to massively boost the number of volunteers in the state. The RSS leader also urged the Sangh Chalaks of North and South Assam to contact people in general. Dr. Bhagwat also emphasised the importance of establishing Sangh units throughout the state.

The RSS leader asked the Sangh Chalaks to organise public awareness campaigns on a variety of social and sensitive problems. In 2019, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh will mark its centenary. In conjunction with the centenary, the RSS will host several events across the country. The following was also discussed at the meeting. His return to Nagpur is scheduled for 4th September.
