West Bengal cattle smuggling scam: ED arrests TMC Anubrata Mondal's daughter Sukanya
Anubrata Mondal, in particular, has already been detained and is being held in judicial custody.

Digital Desk: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) detained Trinamool
Congress (TMC) politician Anubrata Mondal's daughter Sukanya Mondal on
Wednesday in connection with the West Bengal livestock smuggling case.
According to sources, the ED summoned Sukanya multiple times to question her
about the scheme. She has, however, evaded the call thus far.

Anubrata Mondal, in particular, has already been detained and is
being held in judicial custody. The ED apprehended her eight months after her
father, Anubrata Mondal, was apprehended in August of last year. The ED wanted
her to answer questions regarding the sources of finances in the companies and
rice mills in West Bengal's Birbhum area where she was a director or partner.

What TMC leader Kunal Ghosh said?

    In the meantime, TMC State
General Secretary Kunal Ghosh has questioned the timing of her detention.
"Sukanya Mondal was apprehended. The law will run its course. TMC is not
defending her, but in this situation, her mother died three months ago, her
father is in jail, and she is the sole child, is there any legitimate reason to
    arrest her?" he asked.

    She
is the director of two companies, Neer Developer Pvt Ltd and ANM Agrochem Foods
Pvt Ltd, according to the investigation. The enterprises share the same address
in Birbhum's Bolpur town, where Bholebam Rice Mill, which she also owns, is
    located.

    Sukanya's links to rice mills

    Aside from that, she was
involved in a number of rice mills in the Birbhum district. She had previously
been questioned by the ED, but she denied knowing anything about the firms,
rice mills, or other properties in her name.
