    Murmu finished her studies despite difficult conditions. She was born into a

    Murmu served in the Odisha Legislative Assembly from 2000 to 2004. She served
    as a minister and was in charge of the fisheries, commerce, and animal
    husbandry portfolios. From 2004 through 2009, she was a member of the Odisha
    assembly once more.
