Guwahati: To reduce the number of road accidents in the district, the Kamrup Metro District Road Safety Committee re-imposed the ‘no helmet no petrol’ rule prohibiting petrol pumps from selling fuel to riders without a helmet.
The decision was taken during a District Road Safety Committee meeting chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner Bipul Kumar Das at the District Commissioner Office.
As per the committee, from now onwards, both government and non-government employees will have to strictly adhere to this rule set by the District Road Safety Committee. None shall be allowed to enter the office premises if they fail to wear a helmet while coming to the office.
