Assam CM Slams KCR Over Questions on 2016 Surgical Strike, Shares Video
Digital Desk: On Monday, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma shared a video purporting to show the Indian Army’s surgical strike in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and slams over Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao for doubting the Indian Army for the actions taken against the terrorists.

“Dear KCR Garu, here is the videographic evidence of the surgical strike by our brave Army. In spite of this, you question the valour of our Armed forces and insult them. Why are you so desperate to attack and malign our Army? New India will not tolerate insults against our Army,” tweeted Sarma with the video.

Sarma’s video includes screenshots of maps, satellite pictures, and chopped footage of several videos.

Rao said on Sunday, said “Even today, I am asking for the proof. Let government of India show it (the proof). The BJP spreads incorrect information, which is why people demand it.”

Since last week, the two CMs have been fighting over the issue of surgical strikes.

Notably, the row began on Friday, when CM Sarma speaking at an election rally, said, “Look at the mentality of these people’s. General Bipin Rawat was the country’s pride and joy. Under his command, India carried out a surgical attack in Pakistan. Rahul Gandhi insisted on seeing evidence of the strike. Have we ever asked you to prove that you are Rajiv Gandhi’s son? What right do you have to ask my Army for proof?”

Following this, Telangana CM appeals to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Jagat Prakash Nadda to remove Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma for his remarks about Rahul Gandhi.

“I believe that questioning the Army whether they have carried out the surgical strike or not is the biggest crime. My remark on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi enraged him (Telangana Chief Minister KCR), but Rahul Gandhi’s remark about our Army did not.” CM Sarma said, slamming the Telangana CM.

After 19 Indian Army personnel were killed in Uri base camp in September 2016, the Indian Army launched surgical strikes in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
