Assam Civil Service exam to include Assamese language in addition to English for the 1st time

Digital Desk: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced a significant milestone on Thursday: the commencement of the Combined Civil Service Examination (Main) with all questions available in Assamese alongside English. 

This initiative by the Assam Public Service Commission aims to enhance accessibility for Assamese-speaking candidates, marking a key moment in the region's educational landscape.

CM Sarma expressed his enthusiasm for this historic change, emphasizing the government's commitment to inclusivity. He stated, "Kudos to the Assam Public Service Commission for this historic move," underscoring the importance of preserving and promoting the Assamese language and culture within administrative processes.

He stated, "The Combined Civil Service Examination (Main) starts tomorrow. For the first time in history, all questions will be in Assamese in addition to English, as per Govt of Assam's instructions. Kudos to the Assam Public Service Commission for this historic move".

The decision reflects ongoing efforts to empower local communities and ensure equitable opportunities in government services. As the exam begins on July 26 with these adaptations, it signals a progressive shift towards linguistic diversity and accessibility in Assam's civil service examinations.
