    Assam Congress marks a series of resignations ahead bypolls

    Guwahati: Assam Congress marked a series of resignations ahead of upcoming byelections in the state. Several Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) members sent resignations to India Congress Committee (INC) president Sonia Gandhi a few days before the by-polls.





    Social Media state Coordinator, APCC, Arunima Das, sent a letter to INC stating her note for the resignation.

    The letter dated September 30, 2021, stated, " It was a great experience to work as successful coordinator of APCC. That was a memorable day because our Assam Social Media team was highly praised by Rohan Guptaji, Chairman, Social Media & IT Dept, AICC. It was witnessed in person by Rahul Gandhiji and the same was addressed to All National. And State Level Executive at National Executive meeting "DRISTI" held at New Delhi on September 17 & September 18, 2021."

    "However, we observed the quality of trust level towards the Social Media & IT Dept has deliberately made to sink. It is because of few of the senior leaders and their unhealthy intervention and demotivating the team. Now, It is painful to work in such an unhealthy situation. So I tender my resignation from the post with effect from today."





    Arunima Das ended her resignation letter with the note. "I shall even remain as a loyal Congress Worker of the party. I will serve the party as and where needed."





    Chairman, SM & IT Department Secretary, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee, Diganta Bhusan Barman




    On the same date, Chairman, SM & IT Department Secretary, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee, Diganta Bhusan Barman, also submitted his resignation letter to All India Congress Committee president, Sonia Gandhiji.





    The letter read, "As directed by President, Assam PCC to me over phone, I do hereby tender my resignation from the post of Chairman SM & IT Department of Assam PCC with immediate effect."

    Including the above mentioned, several other members such as Trishna Pegu Doley, Mridul Saikia, Sushmita Goswami, state executive member Pankaj Deka, Inamul Haque a few others submitted resignations.





    This series of resignations coming forth from the different state and district members of the Congress party created internal chaos.
