On 26th November 2008, Mumbai witnessed one of the deadliest terrorist incidents in its
Guwahati: Assam doctor, Dr. Subhash Khanna, has been elected in the American surgical society - Society of American Gastrointestinal Endosurgeons (SAGES).
Khanna is one of the pioneers to commence laparoscopic operation and therapeutic endoscopy in the North East. He will support and develop "Endoscopy" and "Hernia" surgery sections for the global organization.
SAGES is a non-profit professional organization founded in 1981, presenting education on gastrointestinal minimal invasive surgery.
It is the most prominent Gastrointestinal specialists' society and has above 8000 members all over the globe. It chooses proficient board members across the globe every two years to develop, shape, and deliver various forthcoming improvements in surgery in chosen subjects.
The mission of the organization is to innovate, train and cooperate to enhance patient care.
On Dr. LianeFeldman's recommendation, the President of the SAGES, Khanna, was chosen to assist the two boards for the following two years. He is one of the three leading specialists of the nation to be elected to attend this prestigious global organization.
The additional two surgeons chosen are Prof.PawanindraLal of Moulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi for Safe Lap Cholecystectomy, including Dr. Ramen Goel of Fortis Hospital Mumbai for Bariatric Surgery.
Previously, Dr. Subhash Khanna of Guwahati has been named President-elect of the Indian Gastrointestinal laparoscopic specialists society for 2017 and 2018 at the 14th Annual Conference of the association carried at Hyderabad from 8th to 11th February.
Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endo Surgeons(IAGES) is an association of doctors set to support and develop the improvement of endoscopic Surgery within India and all around the globe.
