    Assam-Nagaland Border: Nagaland Government aims to settle border issue outside Court

    Kohima: Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) unanimously adopted a three-point resolution to solve the long-pending Assam-Nagaland border issue report said.





    The first resolution adopted by the NLA is that the border issue between the two-state should be solved peacefully outside the Court by both State governments.





    Another resolution is forming a “Select Committee” of the house to inspect all angles of the Assam-Nagaland border issue and submit its reports within three months.





    Reportedly, the ‘Select Committee’ will be led by Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Deputy CM Y Patton, and opposition party leader TR Zeliang. Legislators Paiwang Konyak, Mhathung Yanthan, Jacob Zhimomi, and Amenba Yaden as members of the committee.  Members of Parliament KG Kenya and Tokhedo Yepthomi as special invites and Secretary of Border Affairs and Commissioner of Nagaland as secretary.





    The third resolution will request the Union Home Minister to make sure the maintenance of state affairs in the altercate area until the Assam-Nagaland issue gets settled.
