    Digital Desk: The Assam government took a significant step on Monday to enhance its education system by distributing permanent appointment letters to 23,956 contractual teachers. The ceremonial event saw Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, alongside Education Minister Ranoj Pegu, delivering these crucial documents to teachers of both upper and lower primary schools under the Samagra Shiksha scheme.

    Chief Minister Sarma proudly announced this milestone on the microblogging site X, celebrating the fulfillment of the government's commitment to provide 1 lakh government jobs. He further pledged to create an additional 50,000 positions by May 2025, aiming to reach a total of 2 lakhs. This move is hailed as a historic leap towards transparency and merit-based recruitment.

    The Chief Minister's office emphasized that this initiative under Sarma's leadership underscores a significant commitment to transparent and merit-based employment practices. This effort includes jobs from the BTC and Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, marking a pivotal moment in Assam's recruitment history.

    Taking to the microblogging site X, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma exalted that the government fulfilled the promise of providing 1 lakh government jobs. He further vowed that the state will create 50,000 more jobs by May 2025, taking the total jobs to 2 lakhs.
