Digital Desk: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Sunday the commencement of construction on the state's longest flyover, stretching from Dighalipukhuri to Bamunimaidan.

Expected to relieve traffic and enhance connectivity in the area, the project is set to be completed by 2026.

"I request all to cooperate during its construction. We aim to complete this mega project by 2026," CM Sarma stated stating the importance of community support for the successful realization of this infrastructure development.

This declaration follows the October 18, 2023, auspicious occasion of Maha Panchami, which coincided with the recent inauguration of the Shraddhanjali Flyover over Zoo Road in Guwahati. The installation of this flyover has proven to be a crucial factor in easing the city's traffic woes.

The inauguration of the 'Nilachal Flyover' in Maligaon on August 30, 2023, started the process of improving infrastructure.

Going back to October 2022, the Arya Nagar Flyover was officially inaugurated by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. The Arya Nagar Flyover, which is over 790 meters long and was constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 149.07 crore, has significantly improved the region's infrastructure.
