Digital Desk: In a significant development, the Department of School Education in Assam has officially announced the transformation of 1,281 Madrasa Education (ME) madrasas into ME schools. The conversion of these government and provincialized madrasas into regular schools was led by the Board of Secondary Education Assam (SEBA).
State Education Minister Ranoj Pegu took to the microblogging site X to share details about this transformation. Emphasizing the consequential nature of this shift, Pegu stated, "Consequent to the conversion of all government and provincialized madrasas into general schools under SEBA, the Department of School Education Assam has changed the names of 1281 ME madrasas into ME schools by a notification today."
