    Assam secures 1st position in National Urban Livelihood Mission performance

    Guwahati: Assam Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs and Irrigation Ashok Singhal shared the great news on Thursday with netizens. Minister Singhal shared a Twitter post stating Assam secured the first position in National Urban Livelihood Mission performance at a national level.





    Singhal tweeted, "Reaching another milestone, Assam tops in the country. With great delight & pride, sharing this big news with you all that our state Assam secured 1st position in the All India chart under the National Urban Livelihood Mission with the exemplary 122% performance rate of the annual target."





    The data shared by the Minister also showed other states under the ranks. The first place is secured by Assam, followed by Tripura, Himachal Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu.





    The Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation started the National Urban Livelihood Mission on 23 September 2013.

    National Urban Livelihood Mission principally concentrates on overcoming poverty and vulnerability living in the urban low-income families by providing them access and possibility for self-employment and experienced wage working possibilities. 





    The mission presents basic shelter and other fundamental requirements to the urban people in a phased method. It is concerned regarding street vendors from urban areas. The mission also ensures social protection and proper spaces by improving their retailing possibilities.





    This mission has brought multiple changes in the lives of people residing in urban areas of Assam. This initiative also looks after organizations of self-help groups for financial stability.
