Dergaon Tragedy: Experts from Delhi-Based Organization Inspect Accident Spot

Digital Desk: A group of three specialists from the Delhi-based Save Life Foundation (SLF) showed up at the scene of the horrific road accident that left twelve people dead in Dergaon, Assam, on Thursday.

The crew reportedly went to the scene of the collision to investigate the circumstances that led to the terrible event. 

According to reports, the Assam government asked the organization's representatives to visit the scene of the accident in Dergaon and look into the situation.

According to sources, the experts are expected to begin a thorough investigation using scientific methods to determine the true cause of the sad tragedy.

According to reports, the three-person team investigated the scene of the event as the first step of their investigation. In the following stage, they are expected to examine the two automobiles involved in the head-on accident.

An officer from the transport department who was on the scene stated that the Delhi team had begun its inquiry, which will conclude on Friday.

The official said, “The team has come from Delhi to enquire on why and how the accident took place and what happened post the incident. They have just started the investigations. This process will continue tomorrow also. Today, they took a few photos of the damaged passenger bus.”

It should be noted that on Wednesday, in Balijan, near Dergaon, a bus carrying twelve passengers—of a total of forty—were murdered when it collided with an approaching truck carrying coal.

According to officials, over 20 more people were injured in the collision, ranging from mild to major.

At approximately five in the morning, a 45-person passenger bus collided with an approaching dumper truck carrying coal on National Highway 37.

Both car's drivers instantly died on the spot. Critically injured patients were referred to Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH), while the others were transported to Dergaon Civil Hospital.
