    Drugs worth Rs 4 crore burnt down by Assam Police

    Morigaon: Continuing with it's efforts on 'zero-tolerance' against drug peddling in the state of Assam and it's adjoining region, Assam Police along with the Morigaon administration today burnt drugs worth ₹4 crores 80 Lakh.





    Following all legal formalities, the Drug Disposal Committee disposed the seized drugs and psychotropic substances of 105 cases.





    Special DGP Law and Order, GP Singh through his tweet informed, “Today @MorigaonPolice with the Drug Disposal Committee disposed the seized drugs and psychotropic substances of 105 cases after observing necessary legal formalities Ganja – 198.478 kgs,Heroin – 561.89 gm,Cough Syrup bottles 6289,Brown Sugar – 212.01 gm, Tablets=83,151”

    Under the able leadership and orders of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Assam Police has got cracking on drug peddlers and illegal drug trade across the state.





    Earlier, a similar drive was conducted in which, heaps of drugs were set on fire as the state government started its drive to destroy narcotics. The drive was held at Diphu, Golaghat, Nagaon and Hojai.
