    Meghalaya government issues new guidelines for entering the state

    Shillong: Meghalaya government has issued new guidelines for people entering the state. People require to register with the government website and download the Arogya Setu app and the Behavioural Change Management app.





    The official stated that the new guidelines were announced after Tuesday's Omicron variant of COVID-19 was identified in some states.





    The statement released by the government read, "It is necessary for all persons entering Meghalaya to register themselves before they travel. They have to register at http://meghalayaonline.gov.in/covid/testing.htm and download the Arogya Setu app, and the Behavioural Change Management app Meghalaya from Google play store or App store. But, tourists should register on the Meghalaya portal at https://meghalaya.gov.in/ to generate the 'e-invite for tourists."

    Also, the government has made it mandatory for international arrivals to fillup the self-declaration form (SDF). They also have to upload the negative RT-PCR test reports. 





    Further notification is that travelers shall take home-quarantine for seven days after arrival. Government officials will conduct the retesting process after seven days. 





    If tested negative self-health monitoring for 14 days and if tested positive sample for genomic testing needs to be done, it added.





    Regarding domestic arrivals, the entry protocol remains the same as for the rest of the passengers, and the tourists are encouraged to follow the COVID-appropriate behavior.
