Guwahati: Clearing out the speculation about an interruption in power supply amid the Durga puja celebration, the Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) on Monday announced that sufficient power is available and is committed to provide uninterrupted service in the state.
APDCL tweeted, “Sufficient power is available. APDCL is committed to provide uninterrupted supply of power to our esteemed consumers. Consumers need not to panic.”
An official notification by APDCL stated that it had arranged additional 180 MW power from NEEPCO Kameng HEP to mitigate any market volatility during the festive season.

Additionally, it said the company received 314 MW from APGCL, 219 MW from NEEPCO, 306 MW from NTPC, 10 MW from NHPC, 80 MW from Bhutan power and 58 MW from renewable sources of energy.
Further, the company informed the state-required 2026 MV of electricity.
Earlier, a notification by APDCL went viral, which stated that coal-based power plants are generating less than half of their capacity due to a shortage of coal stock in the state. So, the power supply in the state is at a critical level resulting in an interrupted power supply.
