    Ten suspected Bangladeshi nationals apprehended within 24 hrs along Assam-Tripura border

    Karimganj: A total of 10 suspected Bangladeshi nationals have been apprehended by Churaibai Police along Assam-Tripura border in two separate incidents in Karimganj. First four suspects were detained by the Tripura police while they were trying to enter Guwahati, who had boarded a bus of Sherawali Travels bearing the registration number AS01LC-8919 from Agartala.





    The detainees tried entering Assam through Tripura. As per the initial investigation of the police, the four suspects may be associated with the recent case of vandalisation of a Hindu Temple in Bangladesh.

    On interrogation, the police officials have learned that these four Bangladesh nationals have even previously entered Tripura through Harishpur tea estate in Sipahijala district.





    The four detainees have been identified as Rakesh Sheikh, Ashadul Sheikh, Shana Ullah and Kachuar Hussain, all hailing from Rajshahi city of west-central Bangladesh.





    While in the next incident, six suspected Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended by the same Churaibari police along Assam-Tripura border while the group were travelling from Tripura's Dharmanagar to Guwahati.





    The police also apprehended one broker from Ratabari, Karimganj who helped the six suspected foreign national to enter India.





    Among the apprehended are 4 four female and 2 male and have been identified as Fatema Akhtar, Aleya Begum, Safera Begum, Najma Begum, Sohail Gafkar and Abdul Gafkar. The police is keeping its interrogation underway.
