Guwahati: Assam’s popular face Zubeen Garg mocked the ‘Veer Lachit Sena’ leader Shrinkhal Chaliha calling him ‘Brishrinkhal’ (indiscipline).
In Assamese language, Shrinkhal means discipline.
Reportedly, Chaliha put himself in controversy since he warned a Sivasagar based non-Assamese businessman to close his shop.
Moreover, Zubeen added that he would call Shrinkhal.
In a viral video, Shrinkhal Chaliha can be seen shouting at a businessman to shut his shop within 24 hours.
“Why are you harassing this helpless woman? You have to close your shop within 24 hours, it will not be tolerated by us where an outsider harasses our indigenous people.” said Chaliha.
Moreover, Chaliha while threatening the businessman, said, “Have you heard the name of a hengdang? We will use hengdang if you disobey us.”
Shrinkhal informed that a widow owns the shop, and the businessman is harassing her.
The woman alleged that she could not get the appropriate rent amount from the businessman who is her tenant, a local media report said.
Meanwhile, a former Veer Lachit Sena leader puts a financial allegation against Shrinkhal Chaliha and Rantu Pani Phukan, another organisation leader.
Reacting to the viral video, Special DGP GP Singh has asked Sibasagar police to investigate the matter.
