Digital Desk: In a tragic incident at Chhota Longfa, located in Kathal Bagan near Lumding, a youth named Vijay Bhuyan was found dead near the riverbank. Allegedly, Vijay was murdered by his co-worker Vikram Singh, both employed as daily wage labourers in the area.
According to reports, the dispute began when Vijay approached Vikram to claim his share of the work. However, instead of resolving the matter amicably, Vikram purportedly attacked Vijay with a bamboo stick, resulting in fatal injuries. Eyewitness testimony from the victim's father corroborates the sequence of events, indicating that he attempted to intervene but was also assaulted in the fight.
The swift response of the community led to the apprehension of the accused, Vikram Singh, who was subsequently handed over to the authorities at Barlangfer police station. This incident highlights the vulnerability of labourers and underscores the importance of ensuring their safety and well-being in workplaces.
The tragic loss of Vijay Bhuyan serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of unresolved disputes and the need for effective conflict resolution mechanisms within communities.
