An Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) report said that a total of 5,15,039 people in 65 revenue circles and 1,254 villages of 22 districts have been affected by the ongoing floods in the state.
As per report, two persons, one each from Hailakandi and Dibrugarh, have been missing.
On Sunday night, two people, including a child died due to floods in Sribhumi.
Embankments, road and other infrastructures were destroyed by the rising water in several districts, including Dhemaji, South Salmara, Lakhimpur, Dibrugarh, Golaghat, Darrang, Nagaon, Karbi Anglong, Kamrup, Biswanath, Tinsukia, Karbi Anglong West and others.
The authorities are working tirelessly to provide assistance and relief measures during this grim situation.
