Digital Desk: The 48-hour petrol pump shutdown has been temporarily cancelled as the North-East Petroleum Dealers Association has decided to postpone their planned 48-hour shutdown. 

Initially scheduled from March 30 to April 1, the shutdown was called off following discussions with major oil companies like IOCL, HPCL, and BPCL. The decision to postpone the shutdown until April 15.

The association, representing petrol pump dealers in the region, had previously announced the shutdown as a means to protest against various issues, including pricing policies and operational challenges. 

However, after engaging in talks with the oil companies, they opted to delay the shutdown temporarily. This decision reflects a cautious approach by both parties, seeking to find common ground and avoid disruptions in fuel supply.

The temporary cancellation of the shutdown is also influenced by the election code of conduct in Guwahati.
