    Japanese Delegation On 3-Day Visit To Assam: Aims To Enhance Collaboration
    The Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma received the delegation at his office and said it was his honour to welcome the Hon'ble Speaker and his delegation to Assam. This visit would deepen ties between the state and Japan, CM Sarma added.

    Digital Desk: A Japanese delegation led by its Speaker of the House of Representatives of Japan, Nukaga Fukushiro, arrived in Guwahati on Saturday, May 3, for a three-day visit to Assam. Assembly Speaker Biswajit Daimary warmly welcomed the delegation team at the Guwahati Airport, accompanied by Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Nandita Garlosa and senior officials.

    The Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma received the delegation at his office and said it was his honour to welcome the Hon'ble Speaker and his delegation to Assam. This visit would deepen ties between the state and Japan, CM Sarma added.

    He further said that the visit will motivate Japan-based companies to look at Assam and other northeast states for collaboration.

    Taking to X, the Chief Minister's Office said that Speaker H.E. Nukaga Fukushiro led a delegation team that arrived in Assam on Saturday evening for a three-day visit.

    Referring to his visit to Japan this year in February, CM Sarma said that he met the Speaker regarding employment opportunities for Assamese youth in Japan. He also discussed Assam's readiness to start a Japanese Language and Testing Centre at ASEAN One Technical Centre at Amingaon in Kamrup district.

    The 45-member delegation will visit the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati, and the Tata Semiconductor and Testing Facility at Jagiroad on Sunday. The team will also visit various projects being implemented with Japanese aid.

    The team will leave on Monday, an official said.
