Digital Desk: Popular Assamese singer Nilotpal Bora claimed that his YouTube channel was hacked by unknown hackers on Tuesday. A video is circulating on social media where he is seen talking about the issue.
Nilotpal says on his Facebook page, “My YouTube Channel "Nilotpal Bora Soundscape" has been hacked.. I'm currently working on resolving the issue and securing my account. Your support and understanding during this time are greatly appreciated. Thank you”
Another artist, Dikshu Sarma, also claimed that his account had also been hacked and inaccessible. He says that “he is trying to recover the channel and seek support from the public till the issue has been resolved.”
Nilotpal is seen saying in the video, “We have already mailed YouTube and are trying to establish a connection to recover the lost channel.”
“My day started with reading the comments on the channel, and due to YouTube, many artists like me enjoy a good life,” he added.
Another artist, Suvrat Kakoti, also reported hacking. On Facebook, he said, “Our Youtube channel ROOTSTOCK ENTERTAINMENTS has been hacked. We are working on it. DE BHAGAWAAN crossed 80K views overnight!”
As Assam grapples with the much anticipated Bihu season and artists all over Assam release new songs and videos based on the festival, hacked channels in this crucial moment may cause great havoc as YouTube is the main source of Bihu-related releases in Assam.
