Gaikwad, who made his debut for CSK in 2020, has emerged as a key player for the franchise over the years. With 52 IPL matches under his belt, Gaikwad's stellar performance as a right-handed opener in the previous season, where he amassed 590 runs in 16 games at an impressive strike rate of 147.50, has earned him the captain's armband.
